Artist's Statement
"Through art I have discovered what interests me the most about our existence is the many levels and lives we experience as we grow. I take images created by digital means or traditional film, assemble them as a collage and then distort digitally until the finished piece. Pieces of my life, blended together into something completely new with a life of its own, using Surrealism as my inspiration."
- Laura McLaughlin
Based in Southern California, Laura McLaughlin's work has been shown in art galleries within the Los Angeles area. She combines organically a world where reality is the dream, the dream the reality; creating environments with ongoing transformations, with a doorway in and a pathway out.

Testimonials:
"Laura has the ability to transform the subconscious imagination into palpable, delicious images. Her unique art captures the unbridled energy of the elevated, whimsical, enlightened self; and this truth is evident when others view her work. They nod in recognition as if to say, ' yes, I see myself as I have never seen me before.' " - Jamie Lou Moniz
"I love The Realm of Ideas, it's hanging above my fireplace and I look at it every day!" - Lana Buss
"With an eye for the fanciful, Laura McLaughlin masterfully draws out the whimsical heart of every day objects to produce pieces that are both stirring and visually stunning." - Sheila Myjo
“For me, Laura’s art is like my favorite music; every time I experience it, I discover something new. A new theme, a new texture, a new mood. And that continued discovery helps inspire me with my own creativity.” - Craig Henry
"Laura's work is a gaze into the slipstream, a nod toward the divine, a moment of mercurial untangle just-barely-frozen in time. Traces of psychedelia and the mundane do liquid battle on her canvases to hint at sight beyond sight."
- Brendan McNamara
"It's psychedelicious!" - Ryan Caldwell
